How buying Zcash on buyz.cash works: custody, cost, timing, and what happens when a swap fails.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no email required and no KYC. You paste a Zcash address, send your coins to a one-time deposit address, and the ZEC arrives.

Is this real Zcash or a wrapped token?

Real ZEC on the Zcash chain, sent to your own Zcash address. Not a wrapped representation on another chain, so it behaves like any other ZEC in your wallet.

Who holds my coins during the swap?

Nobody here. NEAR Intents mints a one-time deposit address, solvers compete to fill the swap, and the ZEC settles straight to the address you gave. buyz.cash never takes custody and holds no keys.

What does it cost?

buyz.cash charges nothing. You pay the solver’s spread, a routing fee, and a flat Zcash network fee of 0.00032 ZEC to deliver the coins — all inside the rate you are quoted, never added at the end. You separately pay your own chain’s fee to send, which goes to that network.

How long does it take?

Usually two to fifteen minutes. Most of that is waiting for confirmations on the chain you send from — the swap itself settles in seconds.

What if it fails?

Your coins go back to the refund address you gave when you started, on the chain you sent from. That is why it is asked for up front rather than being optional.
